Giving Up The Illusion of Control
I realize now that most of the content I’ve been writing here has been very centered towards what you do now affects how you live later but I never actually write about how you live now is what matters more than later. There is a saying,
The point is, don't become obsessed with what was or what is to be, all you can ever do is appreciate where you are today and do your best now. The illusion of control blinds more and more people everyday but the truth is your story has already been written, you just have to fulfil it. You do not choose your future, you just strive for what you want it to look like, you nurture it, you believe in it. It's both saddening but also soothing to come to this reality. Do not let your pride blind you into thinking you have control because sure you have control of your actions now but not where they will lead you.
I think this scene from kung fu panda sums it up pretty well:
First of all, I’d just like to say that Master Oogway is literally the goat and one of the greatest characters DreamWorks has ever made. This guy single handedly carried the first Kung Fu Panda movie and convinced me to watch the rest of them when I was younger. But most importantly his wisdom is real, that's what I love about movies, there are always things you can take from them, even a children's movie.
The peach metaphor is fairly simple to sum up, you cannot control most things about a child or student, they will become what they were meant to become (the peach seed becomes a peach tree.) But only if you’re willing to guide them, to nurture them, to believe in them. Only then, will they become the best version of themself. But, this can also be related to not only a student, but also to oneself’s spirit. You cannot decide your outcome but you can decide where you lead yourself. Even more importantly, you must listen to yourself and not let others choose your path for you because not only will you not grow into what you were meant to be but you will also be stuck somewhere where you were never meant to be planted. You have to understand that even people like your parents don't always know what is best for you because they lived in a completely different world then where we are now, they believe they know what is best for you but that's not always true, but I think deep down you do.
Conclusion
I think that this is by far the most important thing I've posted yet, maybe its just because of all of the wisdom that's been built up inside me over the last couple weeks of not uploading. I know its a lot of information but the key thing is that you only have control of what you do now and don't let others tell you which path to follow in the present, because thats all that you have. Believe in yourself and find people who do too and then become what you were meant to be. Thanks for reading guys, maybe this was just yap but I felt it was necessary, have a good one.
