The Power of Consistency

Im not sure if its just me but its these days of the year where I find myself slacking off the most, I stop going to the gym, I stop working on my future and I just sit on my couch in my bedroom scrolling through social media. I feed myself excuse after excuse convincing myself that  it’s the weekend and im with family that I dont get to see often and that I shouldn't be working as a whole even though im not even spending that time living the vacation, just existing in it.

The Reality of it 😞

It sucks, not working on what you need to, but what sucks more is the mental side effects to them; after spending three hours scrolling and looking at the time you convince yourself in that moment your the worst person on the face of the earth. In reality, you’re not, everyone procrastinates. Some strategies I’ve used in the past to stop me from procrastinating are the 40% rule. It’s a very simple motivational trick, once you feel burnt out tired after a long day of school as an example, chances are you’re accustomed to picking up your phone. Just don’t, something you need to know is that most people are only living their lives at 40% capability, that leaves a whole other 60% just sitting there, so use it tell yourself I’m not letting down my guard until I finish everything I need to today. Don’t use this as an excuse to slack off and start just speeding through everything, put time and effort into your crafts. If you find that part difficult then if possible change the topic you're working on, personalize it, correlate it to your authentic self in some way and I’ll guarantee you you may still not enjoy it but you can definitely be more present in the work for sure. Keep in mind you don't have to do anything crazy but you should slowly be inching towards your goals everyday.

Conclusion

It's apparent that most people will struggle with consistency, but you may still be wondering why? Because everything comes with being consistent and having the mindset to be; just think about how your life could be like if you actually did everything you had to do in your day everyday before just sitting down. Not only would you actually be able to relax with ease but you can look at yourself with pride knowing that you did everything the best you could. So all I want you to do is to do something everyday to set you up for a better future, trust me your future self will thank you for that, thanks for reading guys.
