What Christmas Is like In a Foreign Culture

So, maybe its just the household I grew up in but I never understood the whole "Christmas Spirit" thing. Why should people be nicer on Christmas than any other time of the year. Maybe ive been missing out but I've never really celebrated Christmas like someone who actually likes it does.

Key Differences

So I know I'm contradicting myself right now, but at this point the whole world is celebrating Christmas because of the influence the west hemisphere has on the world, you'll even have people in Egypt with a whole tree and stockings and everything even when our religion contradicts it. Nevertheless, I still have no experience with these traditions, what my Christmas looks like is just inviting other people who don't celebrate Christmas and bingeing movies until we pass out on the living room couch. I respect the love for it though, I can relate because we have our own holidays that most people here don't celebrate so in a way its sort of the same thing. From what ive heard from my friends Christmas traditions can vary widely for families, but in the end its all the same basics. Wake up early, open presents, eat pancakes, go to a family gathering and eat a fancy Christmas dinner. Thats all cool and everything, however for someone who doesn't partake in these things I find it annoying that literally everything is closed during that one Christmas week; its fair, I'd fee; bad if some people got the day off and others didn't, but that doesn't make it any less annoying. So overall, Christmas is mid. (jk)

Conclusion

These times of the year everyone is so sweet, you can really feel it in the atmosphere when its Christmas season ill give it that. Lets be honest, we all love this time of year no doubt of that. (Partially because I get two weeks off of school but still.) Thanks for reading this one was kind of short, but I still wanted to get something out there.
